PLANTING ENVIRONMENT
“
Lipu taro likes high temperature and humidity. It starts to germinate above 13-15 ℃. The growth period requires a temperature above 20 ℃. The corms develop well at 27-30 ℃. At the beginning of growth, the root system is shallow and drought-resistant. After the seed taro has roots, the new plants gradually expand and become "mother taro". Later, with the growth of the plants, new spherical stems, namely fresh taro, are continuously tillering under suitable conditions, and become "child taro" and "sun taro. Taro roots are fibrous roots, but less developed, distributed in the sandy loam layer 24-27cm, in the middle and late stages of growth, maintain and extend the life of the leaves, which can provide more nutrients for the formation of corms. Lipu taro is more shade-tolerant and does not require too much light. High temperature and drought will cause the leaves to die. The growing period requires sufficient water, more suitable for cultivation in humid areas.
